Week 5 - Goodbye

 Karandeep is off to Canada to visit his family there.  We have loved having him in Room 11 and wish him all the best.

Week 5 - Huhu Beetle

Jeary found a huhu beetle in the bottom forest and we did a little bit of research about it.  Then I decided to take it out of the container and show it to the children.  It fell off my hand and I went to pick it up.  It bit me and I let out an almighty scream from the shock.  The class dissolved in laughter and it was a good lesson in leaving bugs where they are...

Week 5 - Group Day Competitors

 Congratulations Theon, Kaeli, Alexus, Etta and Ella for being chosen to compete at group day.  They did Room 11 and Valley School proud!

Week 4 - Mrs Steers Dance Group

Mrs Steer asked for some children to join her dance group from the middle school.  Everyone wanted to join so I asked them to apply and say why they wanted to be in the group.  The applications were very persuasive and passionate.  These are the children who were chosen.  I hope they have an amazing experience and we can't wait to see them at Valleys Got Talent.

Week 4 - Welcome

 We are so lucky to have 2 new lovely class members of Room 11.  Lexi and Vanessa welcome to Room 11. 

Week 4 - School Track Events

 What a fantastic day we had at the track events today.  Not even a little bit of drizzly rain could curb the enthusiasm of being out competing. I am so proud of all the children in Room 11 for the 100% effort that they all put in. Here are some photos...

A reward for a great day of being an awesome spectator... grass headed home with someone. :)

Week 3 - Little Garden League

 Monday - We had the most unusual post this morning from the Little Garden League.  The children were asked if they wanted to join.  They had to do a Kahoot and submit an application.

Tuesday - The applications were received and a shipment of pots arrived ready for planting.

It was so exciting to go outside and watch the magic happen...

Week 2 - Cricket Coaching

 On Tuesday Room 11 had cricket coaching from Counties Cricket.  They played a game of tag with the tennis balls, then throwing to get the stumps down and then a game of hitting the balls off the tees.  It was so much fun.

Week 1 - Helping Becca

Becca is planting fruit trees around the school.  She invited Room 11 to come and plant two peach trees over by the Junior Block.  The children had so much fun planting the trees and then as a reward they got to pick some yummy mandarins to eat.

Week 1 - A lovely surprise.

Belle came to school with a beautiful lavender plant for me.  I brought a pot and she planted it. Now it is outside Room 11 to attract bees to our flowers.

Week 1 - Finding fractions and then playdough fun

 We are straight back into learning this week in Maths. This term we are starting with fractions.  The children are learning how to manipulate play dough into different fractions. 

 Then we had some extra time so I gave them a challenge to make the most interesting creation in a short amount of time.  Have a look at their play dough creations.
