Well Room 11 2021 it is time to say goodbye. We have had lots of fun this year in the classroom and on our zooms. It wasn't the year I had hoped for but it was definately memorable. You have made me smile and laugh more often than any other class. I can't wait to see you at school next year and please pop in and say hello. I will be waiting with the hug I couldn't give you this year.

Well I didn't think the year would end like this but I loved our last zoom together... what a great class... and look at those Mums that snuck in there...
The children designed some 3D houses to fit a mouse. Look at these cool creations....
Today we followed instructions on how to draw an alien.
The alien is 1 metre tall and it can fly. It is shaped like an upside down ice-cream cone. It has feet like a lizard. It is rainbow coloured, with the colours the same as the rainbow. The head is the same size as the body. It has large, black, compound eyes like a fly. The alien flies by blowing really hard from its mouth which is shaped like a vacuum cleaner hose.
I soon realised when the children asked for a metre ruler to draw the alien in their book that they didn't understand the measurement of a metre. We did lots of learning about measuring in metres and then we grabbed the chalk and a metre ruler and headed outside.

We read listened to the story about the Very Hungry Worry Monster and then made our own.
Some of the kids from Room 11 came along in their brightest colours for a zoom meeting with me to bring some happiness into our world. I know I had fun!
What a wonderful way to end the week with a book parade full of pirates from The Great Piratical Rumbustification by Margaret Mahy.
