Week 7 - Draw an alien

 Today we followed instructions on how to draw an alien.

The alien is 1 metre tall and it can fly. It is shaped like an upside down ice-cream cone.  It has feet like a lizard.  It is rainbow coloured, with the colours the same as the rainbow.  The head is the same size as the body.  It has large, black, compound eyes like a fly.  The alien flies by blowing really hard from its mouth which is shaped like a vacuum cleaner hose.

I soon realised when the children asked for a metre ruler to draw the alien in their book that they didn't understand the measurement of a metre.  We did lots of learning about measuring in metres and then we grabbed the chalk and a metre ruler and headed outside.
