Week 11 - Welcome to Valley School!

Our wonderful new classmate has been in Room 11 for a little while now but I finally got a photo of her.  Welcome to Valley School Rose!

Week 11 - Legs Eleven

Legs Eleven is our soccer team that has been competing in the Valley School Middle and Senior soccer competition.  They did really well but lost out to a better team.  Well done guys.

Week 10 - Tahi Reading Group Made Scones

The Tahi reading group has just finished reading the book Fleeb Makes Scones.  The children worked with Mrs Sharland to follow a recipe to make some scones for the whole class.

Week 10 - A Meteorite Lands at Valley School

Oh my goodness I arrived at Valley School this morning to a meteorite landing in our school playground.  It caused a massive amount of excitement.  The children wondered how it happened and where it had come from.  It was glowing when I arrived so I had to keep cooling it down with a watering can which caused the most unusual steam.  Luckily it wasn't dangerous...

Week 9 - Look who won the St Patrick Day colouring competition... Yay!

Week 9 - Fractions and play-dough fun

Room 11 have begun learning about Fractions in Maths.  The children used play-dough to follow the instructions to make 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5.  They did such an amazing job that I thought let's have some fun.  I gave them 5 mins to create something with their play-dough.  

Look at all these cute play-dough creations.  I am thinking we might have to get the clay and make some more sculptures after this activity...
