Week 1 - Memory Boxes

 This week the children were learning how to write lines in a poem called My Memory Box.  We watched this clip for motivation.

I taught the children that we include adjectives to describe the verbs and nouns.  We took a boring sentence.  "In my memory box I will put a swim at the pool" and brainstormed adjectives to describe the words swim and pool.  The children then created their own sentences.

Then the children wrote their own memory box sentences.  The created a memory box and put the sentences inside.  Here are the finished memory boxes...

Week 1 - Phoenix Comes to Room 11 and Creative Block Designs

 Welcome back to Room 11 for Term 3.  Over the holidays we got a new puppy and he is so little he had to come to school for a couple of days. Welcome to Phoenix...  Room 11 were so wonderful with him and he hung out with me.  He even went to sleep on my chair while we were on the mat...

Kai got really creative on Friday afternoon and created a throne.  

Then Zac joined and they decided to change the throne to a toilet.  This is the first toilet created from blocks in Room 11 and now we know how the name came about... :)

Week 10 - Senior Rockets

 The senior classes had made some rockets for their inquiry and we got to go out and watch.  It was amazing to watch them shoot into the sky.

Week 10 - Alien Writing and Alien Art

 This week the children made and alien.  They then wrote a descriptive piece about an alien.
