Week 4 bloggers Levi and Ciara

Skully came back, day off, cross-country and mufti-day!

Skully has arrived back from holiday!  Thank you to Bailee’s
Dad for fixing Skully up.

We had a day off on Wednesday.  Mrs Massey went up to
Queen Street to walk with the Valley School teachers.
Yesterday it was cross-country.  Mr Goulstone was
there announcing the races.  Mr Bell was saying “on your marks,
get set, go! Then he banged some pieces of wood!  The Year 3
kids ran as fast as they could. Room 11 tried really hard and
gave 100%.

Yay thank goodness it is Friday and Golden Time and
mufti!

Week 3 bloggers Amelia and Cameron

Week 3
This week in our maths group we were finding different ways
to solve a maths problem.
Alistair was an apple tree grower.  He grew 6 rows of apple
\trees with 6 trees in each row.  How many apple trees were
there in Alistair’s orchard?

We had to find 4 different ways to solve the problem.
We worked with a buddy.

On Wednesday we went to the Pioneer Cottage.
There was lots of old stuff that we looked at.
“My favorite was the doll sleeping in the crib and
watching Cieran playing the piano” said Amelia.
“I liked the mannequins and the washing machine” said
Cameron. It was crowded in the little cottage.  It was lots
of fun and we learnt heaps.

Our Cool Inquiry has Started
This week Room 11 has been learning about
the history of New Zealand and Pukekohe.
We learnt that Cape Hill has change a lot.
It was volcano long, long ago and it blew its
top off.
Then lots of native birds and trees came
grew on Pukekohe Hill.  I think the hui is the
prettiest bird that is now extinct.
The Maori people came in waka from Asia and
then  the Pacific Islands to New Zealand.
Next week we will find out what Pukekohe
Hill will look like after they came.

Selfie Writing, Learning and Presenting our Speeches
Room 11 is full on back into learning this term.  The children drew
selfies and then wrote about their favourite memory of the holidays.
Come in and look on our Room 11 Wicked Writing wall.
Here is a great selfie I took of Room 11 and myself.
Last term the children finished writing their speeches so this week
was all about learning them.  The children practiced and practiced
and practiced. Finally after a last practice they were ready to present
them to the class.
The children did such an amazing job and I was so proud of everyone
of them.  The top 3 children got to present theirs to the Middle
Syndicate Assembly. We had a Top Boy winner and 2 Top Girl Winners.
They did so well and we were all really proud of them.

Merry Christmas and the last blog post ever
